Genting Highland

I went to Genting Highland with my family and relatives from 20th June to 22th June. It has been a long time since I last went there. Roughly about 5 to 6 years.

We boarded the bus at Golden Mile on 19th June, 11.30pm. While we were waiting for the coach bus to reach, we saw a drunk man doing dangerous stunts on the streets. He even went to hit the screen of the coach bus when it was turning into the waiting area.

We boarded the bus and cleared the customs. And gradually, the temperature inside the bus started to turn very very very cold. It was so freezing cold that I wasn't able to fall asleep at all, even with jeans and a cardigan. Halfway through the journey, my mum opened the sleeping bag we brought to use as blanket. I joined her at the back of the bus since there were quite a few empty seats. Even with the sleeping bag as blanket, I still couldn't fall asleep as my mum and I shared the "blanket". I had to stay at a fix position and it made me felt so uncomfortable being unable to move.

After a few hours, we reached Genting Highland (about 4 am in the morning). I felt nausea from the ride. The bus driver was driving at a fast speed, thus the whole bus was very shaky and we were swaying from right to left and left to right when the bus was driving on the mountainous road. Since I was already feeling very cold in the bus, it didn't feel much of a difference when I reached the top of the mountain. The nauseousness faded off after awhile.

We went to the Resort Hotel to register and also to drop our bags at the "deposit-your-bags" area. We went off to Old Town to have our super early breakfast at 4+ or maybe 5 am.

After breakfast, my parents headed off to the casino while the rest of us went to hang around at an outdoor area.

This is the outdoor area I'm referring to. We used to go there to hang around very often when we go Genting Highland.

These 2 pieces of stones have been there for a very long time. We took pictures with it many many years ago and it's still there this time round, so we took another pictures with it again.

Awhile later, my sis and aunt went off to the casino, leaving my cousins and I at the arcade area. As soon as the arcade started operating, we went to top up the cards and played Initial D. I won quite a few times and soon I became bored of driving as I was super sleepy. We waited from 4am to 12.30pm before we checked in to the hotel room.

I bathed and slept till 3.30pm. I woke up because I was feeling hungry. We went to eat KFC and went for bowling after that.  

When back to hotel to wash up and head out for dinner after all my relatives arrived.

This candle is AMAZING. I've never seen this kind of candle before. You only need to use the lighter to light up the middle part of the lotus. After that, the fire will become big and there will be sparkles. After some time, the lotus will open up, just like the 3rd picture. Most importantly, there is MUSIC coming out from the candle. This thing only cost RM8. By the way, this cake is made by my cousin. He didn't came along with us to Genting Highland anyway. 

As usual, we are the family who always attracts loads of attention. The previous time we went to Upper Thomson Rd, Longhouse to have our dinner, loads of people in the hawker centre turned to look at us as 10 of us climbed up the back of a truck. This time, 12 of us sang a birthday song for my dad when we were in a crowded restaurant.

We got the staff to help us take an "all-together" photo. This was the first time we were celebrated my dad's birthday in such a manner. Normally we would just get him something, or eat dinner together as a family.

After dinner we went to purchase movie tickets for this show 

The showtime of this movie was 1.30am.

Throughout the 3 day stay at Genting Highland, we went to play pool every single day. After pooling, we brought Starbucks back to the hotel and waited till 1am before we leave the hotel again and walked to the cinema. I was freaking tired and didn't feel like going for the movie. But since we have already bought the tickets, what I could do was to tolerate the sleepiness.

Throughout the movie, I was only hoping that the show could end faster. Partly was because the movie wasn't very awesome to watch. Some parts of it were funny, but the plot was kinda.... nonsense though. It was FREAKING FREAKING cold outside when we went out of the theatre after the movie ended. I was jumping around while waiting for my cousin to come out from the toilet. I used my cardigan to cover my legs cos I was wearing shorts. We walked at a speed as fast as running back to the hotel and that was the end of the first day in Genting Highland.

We went to the Outdoor Theme Park on the 2nd day

It was quite disappointing though. Quite a few of the rides were under maintenance. And most importantly, my cousins were not spontaneous at all. They are afraid of thrilling rides, except the one standing behind me in the picture. We spent RM66 for each entrance tix but I only played 4 rides.

This is the car ride I'm referring to.

We took this picture while we were queuing up for the pirate ship. When we started queuing, the ride wasn't operating yet. The maintenance guy was doing test run. But after don't know how many rounds of test run, he still continued doing the same thing. We waited for almost an hour for this ride to start operating. It's totally a waste of time. After we got up on the ride, it wasn't thrilling at all as the ship was unable to go further higher due to dont know whatever reason. The person sitting in front of us said this "摇到我都想睡觉了"

The only highlight of the Outdoor Theme Park is the Space Shot. 

It's the first time I'm playing this although I've been to Genting Highland for many times. The reason why I didn't try it previously was because I was scared. This time round, I was still scared, but I really wanted to try. My cousin, Sis and I went for this ride. My cousin didn't want to play initially, but my sis and I forced him up the ride. When I was queuing, I kept making comments like, "It doesn't seems very high looking at it from the bottom" etc. We were all freaking scared when it was our turn to go up the ride. The carrier went up abit and stopped for a moment. Suddenly, it just pull you up at a very fast speed and gradually slowed down as it went higher up. The amount of things I could see increasd with the height. Soon, it reached the peak and stopped there. About 2 seconds later, we heard this loud sound the machine made when it's about to drop down. The sound sounds like a large amount of gas being released. You will hear this kind of sound from buses. That was when my panic level was the highest and we started screaming. A moment after, the whole carrier dropped down.I could feel that I was floating on my seat. It was the safety belt which locked over my shoulders pulling me downwards.

When we got off the seats, we went to look at the snapshot while we were on the ride. We wanted to purchase it since it was our first time taking that ride, but ended up, the side we were sitting doesn't have a camera.

We went back to the hotel for lunch. Our lunch is, CUP NOODLES. The guys wanted to play pool after lunch. But I was too tired to entertain them. I went to sleep after that. As I was reluctant to go, the rest of them started to fall asleep one by one.

By the time I woke up, it was dinner time. We went KFC again for dinner and we went to play the dragon ride. It's a roller coaster. We went on the ride twice in a row. We have a new name for the ride called "暴力的龙" as it made aggressive turns. During the ride, as my sis and I were sitting behind of my cousins, we tried to put on the hood on his jacket for him. He didn't dare to let go of his grip so he couldn't retaliate.  

We went to meet up with the rest at the bowling alley. Only my dad and bro were playing. I didn't know that my dad is a pro in bowling. He got 3 strikes and a few spares in the game they were playing.

After bowling was pool again and went back hotel to sleep next.

We did some shopping the next day and came back to Singapore.. I love the weather in Genting Highland. Cold but not extremely cold. Singapore weather is really not to my liking..
