Titanic Exhibition

These were the photos taken on 20 April when Chew Yan and I went to the Titanic Exhibition. The exhibition was really a great one. There were a lot of artifacts to see. Each sector had different decoration. They used lighting to mimic different parts of the real ship. For example the deck, the engine room and when the ship was under the water.

We saw the decorations of the actual first class, second class and third class room. The first class room decoration was really beautiful. Old european kind of style. It's like the different class of air plane tickets. They put the value of the tickets back then into present value. IT WAS REALLY DAMN EXPENSIVE TO EVEN BOARD THE SHIP WITH THIRD CLASS TIX. If I didn't remember wrongly, it was $900+ for the 3rd class tix put into present value.

We got to touch the ice berg also. It's just like ice.... hahah.

I remembered reading a description of one man's belonging.
The guy was supposed to board the ship with his friends but he was kidnapped halfway. His friends boarded the ship, bringing his belonging with him, thinking that he would be able to rush there in time to board the ship with them. Sadly/Happily, he didn't board the train and all of his friends who boarded the ship were dead. His belongings were dug out from the ship and put up for exhibition.

There were a lot more things but I'm lazy to type it out. I still have my resume and cover letter to do. SAD 3RD YEAR LIFE.

Too many things

There's too many things to update about. School, Titanic exhibition, the Lucky one, how the pri 4 boy I'm coaching nearly managed to drive me crazy today, completion of The Hunger games trilogy.

The reason why I havent been updating my blog for one week or so with sooo many things happening in my life to blog about is because of The Hunger Games trilogy. I've spent any and every extra time I had to read the books.

The trilogy is really AWESOME. It involves abit of romance here and there, but not too much to the extend that I would classify it as a romance novel. It's more of an action/violence novel, with characters whom you thought that shouldn't die, dying. The Hunger Games are as good as the Twilight series and I was really hooked on it for the past few days, especially last night. I only had 6 hours of sleep because I was too engrossed in reading and I didn't want to sleep.

I've just finished reading the last book, so it's time for me to get back to reality and complete my japanese hw and IR tutorial. HAIS :(

The same old emptiness whenever I've finished a drama/book series is creeping in right now.....

The Vow

Yesterday, I went to Somerset(again) with Elaine to watch "The Vow", but before that, we went to 大戸屋(ootoya) to have our lunch. It is located at Orchard Central, the one I went with Kaixin the previous time. They also have outlets at Suntec City and Clementi Mall.

I ordered the cold Soba(again) and tamago pudding. The food is super awesome, especially the tamago pudding. The pudding is soooo smooth that the wooden spoon would slide pass the side of the pudding when I'm trying to slice a thin piece of the pudding using the spoon. I really love that pudding, but it's quite expensive ($7). Elaine ordered the Soba set and a croquette. We spent a total of $45.90 at the restaurant. We took quite a few pictures at the restaurant, but Elaine hasn't uploaded it yet. I will post the pictures here another time after she uploads it.

We thought that we had more than enough time to eat, but we ended up rushing for the movie. Fortunately, the movie had not started before we took our seats in the cinema.

"The Vow" is inspired by a true story. It's about a married couple who met with an accident, causing the female to lose all her recent memories and her husband becomes a total stranger to her. Her husband tried to win her back and he did it. Till now, the female still hasn't regained her memories, but they are still a loving couple with 2 kids. The movie is nice, but not really that fantastic that I would recommend it as a "must watch".

After the movie, we went to Kinokuniya and I bought this

It costs $31.40 only as Elaine has the membership card. But I don't have time to read it yet. I have not done my jap holiday hw and school is starting soooooon ooooooh noooooo

Bao Today and Shopping!

I bought a groupon deal yesterday and so, I met up with Chewyan today at Cityhall to use that groupon voucher, as well as going for a shopping spree.

We went to Bao today at Marina Square. We could order $40 worth of food by spending only $20 with that deal. When we were in the process of ordering, we already felt that the amount of food we were ordering were way too much than what we could finish, but no choice..we had to finish the value of the voucher all in one shot.

Here is the list of food we had ordered. The xiao long bao was replaced by 2 cups of yuan yang.

By the time we finished half of the food on the table, we were already super full. But we continued stuffing the food into our stomachs, up till a point where we really couldn't take it and asked for da bao instead. We still managed to finish half of our mango pudding after that. The mango pudding is nice, but we were so full that we weren't enjoying eating it.

The egg tarts look nice, isn't it? However the one Chewyan and I ate when we were working at Fedex were way better. I miss that egg tarts!

It's a really good deal and the food are really quite delicious. But I highly recommend that you get at least another 2 people to eat with you. The quantity of food you can order is too much for 2.

And because the deal is a really good one, I bought another one since the validity is 6 months.

We ate for more than an hour, and after that, we went SHOPPING. I brought Cy to Bershka and I spent $79.70 while Cy spent about almost $70. My favourite shop now is BERSHKA!

We went to Stradivarius at Raffles City. I like that shop too, but the clothes there are slightly more expensive than those in Bershka. Moreover, we have already spent a bomb at Bershka, so we didn't get anything from there, although we were very tempted to. REALLY TEMPTED. The blue gradient, yellow gradient shorts and the denim sleeveless top are very nice! But I have to curb my temptation, if not I will be real broke by the end of the month.

Cy bought a pair of flats at Forever New. The bags there are nice too!

okayyyyyy I think I should stop it. HEY PEOPLE, I'm not a shopaholic yea.

Meeting Elaine tmr to watch The Vow =D

The hunger games

Met up with Sharmaine and Elaine for the last time before school starts.

We were supposed to meet at 2.15pm to watch the movie at 2.40PM, but in the end, Sharmaine only reached at about 3pm. We had to watch the one at 4.15pm instead.

The hunger games is really a nice movie! Must watch. Now I feel like reading the book.
The plot is somewhat similar to Kaiji. The richest want the poorest to eliminate each other in a game and it is made into something like a tv programme to them. The part where the little girl was being killed was quite sad though.

I don't understand what's so nice about watching people fighting till their deaths for games. I really wonder if the richest in this world enjoy such a show. I don't mean the hunger games, but watching real humans fighting till their deaths for survival, and enjoying watching people in great fear.

We went to the Avenue Bistro at Cineleisure for dinner. The price of the food is average, but the taste.... not that great....

And we just went home after walking around for awhile.

brownie cheesecake bites

Made this yesterday afternoon. It's nice! The yellow colour thing is cheesecake, but it's a bit too salty. I think I didn't add enough sugar to cover the salty taste.

I did this all by myself. And created a mess in the kitchen. But luckily my mum wasn't around if not I would get constant nagging from her for dirtying her kitchen. Anyway, that's the main reason to why I'm baking. I hate it when my mum is around when I'm trying to make something edible. She won't give me peace.

By the way, my parents aren't at home all the way till friday. They went back to malaysia to sao mu and go genting for 5 days 4 nights after that.

Elaine will be coming over to my house tmr and we will be baking! I want to try making biscotti tmr!
