Festive Period

During the last weekend, I spent my time at home doing my report and I managed to finish about 80-90% of it. It meant that there would be a lot of time for me to enjoy during the weekdays.

Monday was Christmas Eve.

Those were the 3 presents I had received from my colleagues. I didn't prepare anything though as my colleague told me that the company doesn't have the culture of giving Xmas gifts. As it was a half day work day on Christmas Eve, I asked Wendy Chin out and we went to catch a movie: CZ 12

This is indeed a must-watch movie. Although it's expected that there will be a lot of fighting scenes, this movie has also incorporated loads of funny elements. Overall, this is a movie that will make you laugh and help you lighten your mood.

To avoid the crowd, Wendy and I decided to leave for home at abt 5 plus. That summed up my Xmas Eve.

Early in the morning of Christmas Day, I was waken up by my alarm at 6.50AM... to go jogging from Hougang to Toa Payoh. I would consider this as a suicide attempt. For someone like me, who hadn't been running for a few months, to jog for 7km was really suicidal. But of cos, I didn't jog throughout. I couldn't do it. I think the actual distance I had jogged was only about 2km maybe? The rest of the distance was by walking.

I got very bad muscle aches for the next 2 days. It was kinda difficult for me to walk during those 2 days, but luckily the ache had already subsided now.

Prawning/ Night Cycling

Internship makes me feel that my life is filled with more activities and events. This is because internship makes life become dull hence, I have become more appreciative and spontaneous towards after-work activities.

I took a half day leave on Thursday for medical appointment. After that, I met Elaine at Dhoby Ghaut and we went to have our dinner at Strictly Pancakes. I've heard about the shop since long time ago but I didn't get to try it until that day. I ordered a Tiramisu pancakes and the look and taste of the pancake was AWESOME! It is also extremely filling. I tried very hard to squeeze down 2 pancakes into my stomach and that was my limit. I had to leave the last one out.

After dinner, Elaine and I went to shop around the new extension of Sing Plaza. I tried to shop around for Christmas gift for my company gift exchange event too, but I really had no idea of what to buy. Until now, I still havent got it yet and the possibility of me getting chocolates as gifts are higher as the deadline for submission of the gift gets closer.

I was "forced" to go prawning with my siblings and cousins again that night after meeting Elaine. I didn't want to go because the previous time I went, which was about last week only, the catch wasn't good and it made me felt real bored and sleepy towards the end of the prawning session. However, this time was different. The catch was real good. We took 3 rods and during the last hour of the prawning session, a prawn would bite on the bait every few mins for each rod.

This is our catch. The prawn sizes are bigger as compared to those we had caught last week. I think there should be about 40-50 prawns inside. Slept at about 3.30am that night and the next day, my mind was floating in the office, like a ghost.

On friday, as those in my department were not around, I went to have lunch @ Safra with other colleagues belonging to other department. That was my first time going for lunch with them and I was kinda afraid I would feel out of place. But luckily it went fine and the Korean restaurant we had our lunch at was nice.

Saturday:
I went Pasir Ris with my sis and her bf's to celebrate Vincent's 21st birthday @ Livia Condo. (And now I know where Wendy Koh lives.) The best/worst part of it was Night Cycling. There's a total of 9 of us. Our plan was to cycle from Pasir Ris to Lau Pa Sat to eat supper, but we didn't make it there as it was raining and we'd decided not to proceed. At that time, we were already at East Coast Park. We took a different route back from East Coast Park to Pasir Ris. We passed by Simei, Bedok, Tampines and then to Pasir Ris. We started out journey at about 10pm+ and ended at about 4am+. The experience was fun but torturous. We were cycling in the rain and there were puddles of rainwater around. When we cycled passed it, all the water splashed up and we became totally wet and dirty. After we went back to the Condo, we had a quick shower, ate some food, waited for awhile and Vincent's uncle drove us home.

3 consecutive days in Orchard

I have been busy going out this weekend. I received a msg on Friday during work from Sharmaine, asking me to go out with her. We went Far East and I bought a new heels :) We talked about our work and also this time she told me more about how she and her boyfriend started out. And now, this question pops up in my mind:

我的男朋友,你在哪里?

On Saturday, I met Wendy Joshua and Ryan. I met Wendy at an earlier time to go shopping and I bought a black cardigan from Pull & Bear. I seriously very broke now. Must stop shopping alr if I'm gonna save for my grad trip.

We wanted to watch Pitch Perfect at first, but almost all the seats were already taken up. So we had got to choose between Rise of the Guardians or Hotel Transylvania because the rest of the movies look boring. Joshua suggested to ask for the counter personnel's suggestion and she recommended Rise of the Guardians. However, only the first row seats were left and we ended up watching Hotel Transylvania. It's quite a funny cartoon show about a boy trespassing into this hotel built for the monsters and he zinged with a bat/vampire girl. We totally did not regret watching this.

On Sunday, which is today, I met up with my long-time-no-see friend, Ms Tan Kai Xin. The last time we met was in March and we dragged for so long before we met again. This was how I forced her to make time for me: I sent her a birthday message on her birthday and said that I'm going to 绝交 with her if she doesn't meet me soon.

Well, the 绝交 part was just kidding though, it was just nice that she ended her finals so she was free to meet me. We catch up a bit over a cup of coffee and watched Pitch Perfect this time. Pitch Perfect is also a nice show to watch. It's going to stop showing soon since it has been up for quite some time. If you haven't watch you should really go and watch.

We had our dinner at Flam's and dessert at Honeymoon Dessert @ 313 Somerset. We really have a lot to talk and share. She's going to go Australia in 3rd Feb to pursue her studies in Veterinary Science for 6 years. That's freaking long. I told her that I will visit her in Australia one day when I save up enough money. She agreed to be the host when I go over. We must really meet up more often before she goes overseas, if not I will only get to see her once a year when she comes back during her holidays :(

And now, Sunday night blue is kicking in....

Busy week

This week is considered as one of the busiest week ever since internship started. Mainly is because of the interim report. This is the first time I'm writing a 5k words report all by myself. I miss my teammates, I miss doing group projects. Honestly speaking, doing group project is a lot more tiring than doing individual work, especially for the integrated project we had last sem, but there's a sense of satisfaction after completing it together as a team.

And yes, I'm sick of working alr. Every day I have to wake up at 7am to prepare for work, do mundane work, go home and sleep. Next day, the whole routine happens again. In school, if I woke up late, I just skip lectures.. No big deal. During the last sem in school, I was thinking that sch became very boring, but working is worst. At least in school, I still have friends to talk to, got Wendy Chin to disturb every time during IR lectures, sticking crayon shin stickers on my lecture notes to "beautify" it. I'm not saying that my colleagues are not nice to talk to, it's just that we are on different channels or frequencies.

2 more months to go... ...

Okay, back to topic. I went to watch Breaking Dawn on Tuesday night. I actually made an online booking on Saturday. All the while, I had been thinking that I booked the tix at AMK Cathay, but when I wanted to retrieve my tix, I realised that I had made booking at Cineleisure instead. Stupid me. But luckily they allowed me to make changes. However I ended up paying more because the tix at Cineleisure are more expensive than AMK. They allow you to make changes, but won't refund you the extra.

I feel that the movie is just so-so. It's no very awesome as compared to Breaking Dawn Part 1. But if you haven't watch, you can go and watch. I wont discourage ppl to go and watch it, because after all it isn't that lousy.

I spent tues night watching movie, Wed night on jap class, I had only left with Thursday to complete my report. I did my report until about 2.30am before I went to sleep. On fri morning, my sup gave me feedback on my report and I just spent my whole day at work multi-tasking. When I had ad-hoc duties given by my sup and colleague, I would complete it, and then go back to work on my report again. That carried on until I submitted by report at about 4 plus pm. And for my interim report, I've told my boss to go ahead to submit the one she had done previously. Yes, the one with the low score. Because came to think of it, she gave me 7 out of 10 marks, but the rest gotten about 8-9 marks out of 10. The difference between us is only about 1-3 marks. That's quite minor.

However, I had already told her that I couldn't afford for her to give me such low marks for the final report, because the weightage is 30%. She does seem to understand though, so see how it goes for the final appraisal.

Well, I'm having my Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) tmr but yet I'm writing my blog here. I've hardly studied for it.

This was the small gift given by my Jap class teacher to wish us luck for the test. She made the flowers by herself. Simple yet nice. She's such as nice and good teacher, I hope that she will be teaching me for the vacation module next year. But she's pregnant now, she may be away for confinement or maternity leave by then.

This is all I have for this post. Goodbye!
