The days without you

Actually I wrote this blog post in the office, just that it's in the form of paper and I transferred it into the computer when I'm back home. I'm too bored at work. My sup was out for customers' visits and she didn't leave me with any work to do.

I have yet to write any blog post about him... so here it is.

WE FINALLY GOT TOGETHER AFTER SO MANY YEARS!
About 5 years to be exact.

Those close friends of mine would know that things weren't that smooth previously. I even chose to stop contacting him frequently last year and requested to revert back to what we used to be; and that was to stay as normal friends who contact not so frequently on facebook chat & meet up only once in a blue moon.

But things didn't stay that way. As soon as he requested to meet up, we started frequent chatting through whatsapp again. It's only after we got together when I realised that we were both idiots who go into fb app on our phones so frequently just to check if the opposite had replied when there are much more convenient way to communicate during the "cooling" period.

Although those days were the bitter ones, I'm glad that we have gone through it and only got together now. At least it makes us treasure each other more.

It's only about 1 mth+ after we have been together and he has to go training for almost close to a month in Taiwan. However, to make up for the time he's away, he made this for me:

As his training will last for 27 days, he wrote me 27 notes and there are dates stated on each note. He told me to open each one only on the respective date stated on the note. It makes me curious as to what he have written for me, so the first thing i do in the morning when I reached the office is to switch on my laptop and read the note as my laptop loads.

I can't wait for these days to fly past so that he can be back soon.

Hong Kong Trip

Went to Hong Kong with my family and relatives from 10-15 April.

First day was just walking about near the hotel area and constantly getting lost.

Day 2 was planned to go Disneyland initially, however it was raining and we changed the schedule to Da Yu Shan instead. As it was raining and we were on a mountain, all of us were feeling freaking cold. On top of that, I was wearing shorts. The temperature was probably less than 15 degrees and we could see the mist coming out from our mouths when we talked.

What we did at Da Yu Shan were taking the cable car, climbed up the long stairs, eat vegetarian food and got ourselves froze to almost death. But ironically, that was the day I enjoyed the most. Or rather, you could imagine how bad rest of the days were.

 Day 3:

We took the ferry to Macau. First time experience of taking the ferry. I would get the feeling of sitting a pirate ship ride occasionally when I was on the ferry.

Galaxy hotel was really grand and the hotel we stayed in was really fantastic. But that's all about it. My bro and I couldn't enter the casino so there's really nothing much for us to do in Macau.
 

 Day 4:

Walking around Macau. Wasn't interesting in appearing in pictures cos I was too tired.

Day 5: Disneyland

Supposed to be an enjoyable but due to lousy planning, everyone was angst. There's nothing much in HK disneyland though. USS is better than that.

Overview:
I didn't enjoy this Hong Kong Trip at all largely due to lousy planning (btw, my sis is the planner). What she did for planning was: Today we shall go Da yu shan FULL STOP. How to get there? No idea..

I went to Taiwan with my friends without a nice plan too. Or rather we didn't even stick to the plan. But at least we spent some time discussing the itinerary every night or morning before moving out and checking of routes were done nicely in the hotel. However, for this HK trip, my family and relatives were always thinking of getting out of the hotel and plan later. But the problem is, we only get access to the internet in the hotel!

Another thing was the hotel issue. I totally don't get my sis's definition of BUDGET. Her definition of BUDGET is that we get a room in an atas hotel and 11 of us squeezed in that hotel room meant for only 5, 2 or 4 people. After a day of travelling to different places and walking around, I couldn't even get a good rest. For the first 2 days, I have to squeeze in a single bed with my sis, slept on the sofa on the 3rd day accompanied by loud snoring sound made by my sis's bf and slept on the floor with the aircon blasting at me, even a blanket and jacket couldn't keep me warm.

There were just too many unpleasant things about this trip that the only thought I had was for it to end ASAP when I was there the first day.    

Taiwan Grad Trip

I know people are waiting for me to post this. But I'm just too lazy to blog nowadays. And now I'm trying very hard to gather all my motivation to write this post because it will be super long.

Wendy Koh, Wendy Chin, Ryan, Junxing, Alvin, Joshua and I went for our graduation trip in Taiwan from 5th March 2013 to 14th March 2013.

First Day
Woke up at 4plus am to prepare to go to the airport. I was super shagged, but at the same time, feeling excited for the trip. It was my first time going overseas. I gave my first time to these guys. My dad sent me down to amk and I got a ride from JX from there to Changi Airport. Our meeting time was at 6am and surprisingly, NO ONE was late. This group of us were not even so on time when taking exam papers.

My first-time experience of taking the airplane was pretty cool when it accelerated and took off the ground. That was the only cool part. The rest of the journey just felt as if I was on the MRT.

After unloading our luggage in the hotel and took a short rest, we headed off to the Toilet Restaurant

Our food were served in toilet-related bowls and plates. The food is generally not bad. A meal cost about 230NT and the serving was really big.

We went KTV on the first night. I really love the sound system there. And the food.


Day 2

On the 2nd day, we went to wu fen pu to shop. But due to the season in Taiwan at that time, there wasn't many clothes we could get that suit the weather of Singapore. In the end the guys bought more stuff than the girls.

Before heading to Raohe night market, we stopped by the Rainbow Bridge to chill and take some photos.

When it comes to eating at night market, we usually pool in 100NTD each and buy many different stuff to try.

 Day 3
On the 3rd day, we walked around Taipei 101 and went to Dan Shui in the evening.

Beautiful sunset captured just outside the Dan Shui metro station. It was really cold at Dan Shui.

We walked through Dan Shui Lao Jie and saw people eating ice cream along the way. We went to buy too and the Matcha ice cream was really fantastic! I miss eating it right now.  Wish they have it in Singapore.

Day 4

Day 5
We took the train down to Yilan in the early afternoon. Waited at the wrong platform but luckily JX spotted it and we managed to rush to the correct one before the train took off. I was very tired but didn't dare to sleep cos the rest were asleep. I was afraid that we would miss the stop.

An incident happened in Yilan too. 2 of our friends, Wendy C and Alvin were missing when we were cycling from the min su to the lake. Luckily in the end they came back to us safely, but it's a pity that they didn't manage to take a look of this beautiful place.

Day 6
We travelled back from Yilan to Taipei. After that we did nothing much I guess. I couldn't rmb.

Day 7
We took Gao Tie to Tai Chung

Day 9
Another incident happened here again. We took the wrong train and it brought us to Zhang Hua instead of the place to take Gao tie. But luckily, we had enough time to buffer. It just ended up that we had to eat our food at the Carton King Restaurant quickly.

The matcha pudding was really good. I just realised that the Taiwanese can make real good Matcha stuff.

When we were back in Taipei, we went wu fen pu again and this time we managed to buy quite some stuff cos the clothes they were selling were more for the summer season. By the end of the wu fen pu trip, I almost spent all my money.

Day 10
Back to Singapore. I don't know why but the airplane ride from Taiwan back to Singapore felt more unbearable. Maybe it was because the excitement had died down..

I was feeling sad that I'm back in Singapore, but happy because my bf gave me a surprise. He came to the airport to fetch me despite it was his birthday on that day and he told me that he had to celebrate with his family. Although he appeared at an awkward timing, I was still very appreciative of what he had done.

Overall
The whole trip was fun and "exciting" in some ways. I really enjoyed myself but I probably wouldn't consider to go for such a trip again. IT WAS TOO TIRING! I will probably add in activities like going to some places to relax instead of chiong sua style of walking and shopping everyday. 

Festive Period

This is a summary of what happened in the past month of my life:

-Ended my internship:
My supervisor didn't give me ratings which I expected. I was really very pissed off with her initially. But when I put the rating matter aside, I still thinks that she is a good supervisor. At least she's very willing to teach and had given me several lunch treats. 

CNY Eve:
I had been chionging the Internship Final Report for one week right till the deadline, which was CNY Eve (Friday). It reminded me of how we chionged for the Integrated HR project we had last sem. I only managed to catch 2 hours of sleep throughout the night, woke up, and continue with my report until 11am. It was a mad rush cos I had to go to school to submit the report, and it was planned for my family to leave in the afternoon for Malaysia, not to mention that I hadn't pack my bag at all.

My dad seemed to be quite pissed off as he's always a kan chiong spider when it comes to leaving for Malaysia. I couldn't take my own sweet time to pack and I ended up missing quite a few things that I should have brought along with me but I didn't.The most important thing being the doctor-prescribed cramp medicine and my shampoo. I have sensitive scald so I couldn't use other kinds of shampoo other than the one I'm currently using. I ended up having oily scald after using Head & Shoulder for once and a lot of dandruff after using another brand which I couldn't rmb now. Well, in my opinion, dandruff which ain't too obvious is better than having an oily scald.

CNY Period:
It was all the usual stuff and gambling during CNY.  But my family received a shock when we entered the house after having our dinner-cum-supper. The house was somewhat similar to a quite neatly-kept haunted house. There were spider webs everywhere on the ceiling, dusts everywhere and extremely dirty sofa seat covers and cloth everywhere. We ended up doing spring cleaning in the midnight until 2am where we were already extremely tired from hours of traveling from SG to Ipoh.

Back to Singapore:

I prayed for my entire time in MY for my menses not to come until I'm back in SG. BUT IT DIDN'T WORK! The menses and cramps started in the morning and it was the day when I had to run some errant before going back to SG with my parents. So no choice, I had to go. On our journey back to the MY home, we passed by TESCO and my mum suggested to route in and see if there's anything to buy. I tolerated the pain and went shopping with my parents. And with the pain, I got on the car and made our way back home to Singapore.

There's nothing eventful during the weekdays except for the dinner meet-up with Wendies on Thursday at a Korean restaurant. We were all so extremely full after the meal. I always look forward to dinner meet-ups with my friends after work, but so far, there isn't any of such activities coming up next week, so weekend is probably the only thing I look forward to for next week.

I didn't do anything much on Saturday. I wanted to start on my report, but after looking at the criteria, I have decided to procrastinate. Since there was no one at home, I did one of my favourite things, singing. No matter how horribly I sing, no one is going to judge.

The other thing I did on Saturday was to put this song on non-stop repeat for the entire afternoon. I got to know this song after watching Girls Generation's Romantic Fantasy concert/ music event as Jessica sang this song for her solo performance. The original singer is from Philippine. I love the lyrics of this song. Something I can relate to.

I met up with Kaixin today. This would probably be the last time I see her before she flies off to Aus :(
Our original plan was to go cycling, but it was gloomy looking and it really rained after we changed our plan to go Dhoby Ghaut to watch movie instead. We went to watch Les Miserables at the Cathay. Both of us didn't really get the show though. Guess we are just not those persons who will enjoy watching musicals. The movie was almost 3 hours long! And my butt hurts for sitting too long.

 Before the movie started, we also went to the Lowrys Farm to shop. Yes, it's the Japanese brand shop which sells expensive clothes. But now, they are having a sale! Most of the items are selling at a discounted price PLUS a further 30% or 40% discount if you are buying 1 or 2 pieces or more respectively. 

I bought a bottom which cost $36. Still quite pricey as compared to other bottoms but I think it's worth it cos of the quality. This shall be added to my new year clothes collection. I WILL TRY not to wear it before CNY.

We went Strictly Pancakes for dinner at 8pm. During our conversation, Kaixin mentioned this which totally expressed my perspective of HR:

I love this analogy.

And that pretty much summed up how I made used of my Sunday.

Just like what Kaixin has said, we don't even meet up much even when she's in Singapore, but now that she's leaving the country, it just feels a bit different, a bit saddening.
